Gov. Perry Appoints Clapp to Texas Board of Nursing
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Patricia Clapp of Dallas to the Texas Board of Nursing for a term to expire Jan. 31, 2013. The board oversees accreditation of nursing schools and ensures that licensed nurses in Texas meet the necessary requirements to practice.
Clapp is vice president of talent, workforce and education for the Greater Dallas Chamber. She is past president of Executive Women of Dallas and Headstart of Greater Dallas, and a member of the Dallas Summit and Charter 100. She is also a member of the WorkSource of Dallas County board of directors, past chair of the Community Council of Greater Dallas, a member of the U.S. Chamber Workforce and Education Committee and chair of the American Cancer Society Dallas Metro Board. She previously served as chair of the Trinity River Authority. Clapp received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. She replaces Frank D. Sandoval Jr. of San Antonio.
