Gov. Perry Appoints Vittrup as University of North Texas Student Regent

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Meghan Vittrup of Lewisville as the student regent for the University of North Texas for a term to expire May 31, 2009. Student regents have the same powers and duties as the members of the board of regents, with the exception of voting and being counted to determine a quorum.

Vittrup is an intern writer for American Forces Press Service at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. She is vice president of the North Texas Eagle Angels. Vittrup is pursuing a degree in journalism with a double minor in political science and Spanish. She replaces Diana Schulz of Fort Worth.
