Gov. Perry Congratulates Secondary Teacher of the Year
Stephanie Stoebe has certainly traveled the world - a few times - but her most recent accomplishment landed her in totally new place: the governor's office.
Stoebe, a reading interventionist at Round Rock's Hernandez Middle School, was recently named Texas Secondary Teacher of the Year for 2012, and on Wednesday, Aug. 8, she stopped by the Capitol for a meeting with Gov. Perry.
A native of Las Vegas, Stoebe has spent significant time at various places around the globe, graduating high school in Germany and studying as a Fulbright Scholar at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. She met her husband, Walter, during a stint in the Army, and first moved to Texas when Walter was assigned to Goodfellow Air Force base in San Angelo.
Her teaching career spanned Arizona and Georgia before she came to Round Rock. She aspires to someday be a principal.
Secondary Teacher of the Year is an award jointly given annually by the Texas Education Agency and the Texas Association of School Administrators.
Congratulations on being recognized as Secondary Teacher of the Year, Stephanie, Texas is proud of you.
