    Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Anne Boatright of Smithville to the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2015. The board licenses chiropractors and chiropractic facilities, and registers chiropractic radiological technicians.

    Gov. Rick Perry has appointed John Swanson of Frisco to the Texas Mutual Insurance Company Board of Directors for a term to expire July 1, 2017. The board acts as a competitive force in the workers' compensation market to guarantee the availability of workers' compensation in Texas, and acts as the insurer of last resort.

    Gov. Perry: College Credit for Heroes Helps Get our Best and Brightest Back into the Workforce
    Gov. Rick Perry touted Texas' efforts to help veterans enter the workforce more quickly, highlighting Central Texas College and other community college districts around the state that have implemented the College Credit for Heroes program. The governor first called for the creation of the program in June 2010, when he established a comprehensive veterans' initiative in advance of the legislative session.

    Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Jacinto Juarez of Laredo to the Texas Institute for Health Care Quality and Efficiency Board of Directors for a term to expire Jan. 31, 2015. Pursuant to Senate Bill 7 of the 82nd Legislative Session, the institute will improve health care quality, accountability, education and cost to the state by encouraging health care provider collaboration, effective health care delivery models and coordination of health care services.

    Gov. Perry Appoints Heine and Lewis to the Texas Military Preparedness Commission
    Gov. Rick Perry has appointed William "Bill" Heine III of Austin and Dennis L. Lewis of Texarkana to the Texas Military Preparedness Commission. The commission advises the governor and legislature on defense-related issues, prepares an annual report for state leaders, and helps base commanders prepare for the next round of base realignment evaluations.

    Gov.
