Statement by Gov. Rick Perry Regarding GAO Decision Siding with BAE Systems

Monday, December 14, 2009  •  Press Release

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement regarding the Government Accountability Office’s (GAO) decision siding with BAE Systems:

“I am pleased the GAO has agreed with Texas that the Army’s evaluation process for the FMTV bid was flawed and that BAE Systems should have the opportunity to maintain this important contract, and I urge the Army to reevaluate the bid for this contract. Thanks to the hard work of more than 10,000 Texans whose jobs are tied to this contract and the community of Sealy, BAE Systems has delivered an on-time, on-budget and high-quality vehicle to the military for 17 years. My office will continue to support Sealy and work with BAE Systems to ensure the brave men and women serving our country have the best equipment available to them at all times.”
