Gov. Perry Names Stubblefield Presiding Judge of Third Administrative Judicial Region

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Billy Ray Stubblefield of Georgetown as presiding judge of the Third Administrative Judicial Region for a term that will expire four years from the date of qualification.

Stubblefield is judge of the 26th Judicial District Court in Williamson County, a position he has held for 17 years. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Williamson County Bar Association, Bar for the Western District of Texas, Fifth Circuit and Supreme Court of the United States. He is a past judicial member of the American Probation and Parole Association, member and past president of the Rotary Club of Georgetown, and a board member of the Georgetown Palace. He is also past president of the Georgetown Project, and a past board member of the Williamson County Crisis Center and Wesleyan Nursing Homes Inc. Stubblefield received a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
