Statement by Gov. Rick Perry on U.S. Senate Passing Congressional Insider Trading Ban
Thursday, March 22, 2012 Austin, Texas Press Release
Gov. Rick Perry issued the following statement on the U.S. Senate's passage of the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act, which bans insider trading among members of Congress:
"As one of the first to call for the criminalization of insider trading among members of Congress, I believe the Senate today sent an important message that Congress should live under the same rules as everyone else. Much work remains to be done to rein in the federal government's out-of-control spending and scale back its ever-expanding overreach, and I will continue working with conservative reformers to make Washington as inconsequential in Americans' daily lives as possible."
