Statement by Gov. Perry on President Obama’s Decision to Exert Executive Privilege in “Fast and Furious” Case
Wednesday, June 20, 2012 Austin, Texas Press Release
Gov. Rick Perry released the following statement regarding President Obama's exertion of executive privilege regarding "Fast and Furious" documents:
"At the heart of this scandal is the tragic death of a U.S. border patrol agent, slain by a drug cartel member wielding a gun placed into circulation by his own government, and it's unconscionable that President Obama and Attorney General Holder are refusing to cooperate with this investigation. We need our nation's chief executive and highest law enforcement officer to be accountable to the citizens of the United States and stop thwarting efforts to find the truth about this botched operation."
