Statement by Gov. Perry on Fast and Furious Report
Wednesday, September 19, 2012 Austin, Texas Press Release
Gov. Rick Perry issued the following statement regarding the Department of Justice Inspector General's Fast and Furious report:
"If a member of the Attorney General's inner circle had the knowledge and power to stop Fast and Furious, the Attorney General had the knowledge and power to stop it. The only other possibility is that he is incompetent. In either event, for the sake of the country, he must go. Eric Holder should accept responsibility for the tragic, shameful, lawless example of a government program that ran widely out of control. All who cherish the rule of law in America should call on the Attorney General to vacate his office immediately."
