Gov. Perry Names Whittenton Director of Administration

Gov. Rick Perry has named Suzy Whittenton of Austin director of administration for the Governor's Office. The director oversees financial services, human resources, information technology, support services and the compliance and oversight division. She replaces Milton Rister.

Whittenton is a certified public accountant. She has served as chief financial officer for the Governor's Office since November 2011. She previously worked as director of statewide fiscal management in the Texas Comptroller's Office, CFO of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, deputy director of administration for the Texas Animal Health Commission, and CFO of the Texas Racing Commission.

Whittenton received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. She is married and has two teenage daughters.
