Tuesday, December 11, 2012  •  Austin, Texas  •  Press Release

Gov. Rick Perry announced ADP is expanding its operations in El Paso, creating 585 jobs and $22 million in capital investment. Texas is providing $2.4 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) to finalize this expansion and job creation.

"Texas is a beacon of economic freedom and opportunity, which is why employers looking to expand or relocate continue to choose the Lone Star State," Gov. Perry said. "Companies like ADP know that our strong commitment to low taxes, reasonable regulations, fair courts and a skilled workforce make Texas the best place to live, work, raise a family and have a business."

ADP provides human resource, payroll, tax and benefits administration solutions to approximately 600,000 clients worldwide.

"The City of El Paso and the State of Texas are excellent locations to do business," ADP El Paso Solutions Center Vice President and General Manager Terry McGreehan said. "ADP continues to provide leading-edge Human Capital Management services for all our clients and we're delighted that our El Paso Solutions Center will serve as a model for recruiting and employing skilled workers to support those efforts. We look forward to working with the City of El Paso and the State of Texas to accomplish great things together."

"The partnership between ADP and El Paso has greatly benefitted both the company and our community," El Paso Mayor John Cook said. "We are thrilled that this outstanding corporate citizen has decided to deepen their roots here by this significant commitment of new high paying jobs and capital investment."

"ADP has a good history with El Paso, El Paso County, Texas," State Rep. Marisa Marquez said. "Their company's expansion through this Texas Enterprise Fund grant will create a much needed economic boost to the community and the state. All of us should applaud their commitment to create an additional 585 jobs in El Paso and the $22 million committed to capital expenditure."

The Legislature created the TEF in 2003 and has re-appropriated funding in every legislative session since then to help ensure the growth of Texas businesses and create more jobs throughout the state. TEF projects must be approved by the governor, lieutenant governor and speaker of the House. The fund has since become one of the state's most competitive tools to recruit and bolster business. To date, the TEF has invested more than $484.5 million and closed the deal on projects generating more than 65,499 new jobs and more than $17.4 billion in capital investment in the state.
