Statement by Gov. Perry on 12th Anniversary of 9/11

Wednesday, September 11, 2013  •  Austin, Texas  •  Press Release

Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement on the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks:

"The attacks 12 years ago were meant to dishearten and demoralize the American people. They failed in that goal, thanks to the enduring bravery of a wide variety of heroes who stepped forward that day. We will always remember the nobility of the first responders who climbed the steps of the Twin Towers, the bravery of those who rushed into flames to help those injured at the Pentagon, and the determination of the civilians who wrested control of Flight 93, protecting the lives of others on the ground. The actions of these heroes represent the very reasons why America is the greatest nation in the world, and will ultimately triumph over the forces of evil, wherever they may hide."
