Gov. Perry Sets May 10 Special Election for Senate District 4

Gov. Rick Perry today set May 10, 2014, as the special election date to fill the Texas State Senate District 4 seat, vacated by Sen. Tommy Williams.

Candidates for this special election must file applications with the Secretary of State no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 10, 2014. The early voting period begins Monday, April 28, 2014.

The winner will serve the remainder of Sen. Williams' term, which expires in 2016.
