Gov. Perry Announces Grant to Support Crime Victims Services In Grayson, Fannin and Cooke Counties

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has announced the award of $150,000 to Grayson County Women’s Crisis Line, Inc., to provide comprehensive victim services within Grayson, Fannin and Cooke counties. Services include crisis counseling, assistance in developing individual safety plans, and referrals to additional service providers. The grant is awarded under the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) fund and distributed by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.

VOCA funds support programs that promote the restoration of victims to full physical and mental health. VOCA-funded programs address both the immediate safety and long-term well being of victims of family violence, child abuse, sexual assault and other violent crimes.

Each year, the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division awards more than $113 million in grants for a variety of juvenile justice, criminal justice and victim services programs.
