Gov. Perry Announces Grant for Duncanville High School
AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perry today announced grants totaling $6,000 for a Crime Stoppers assistance fund aiding Duncanville High School.
“This funding will lend support to campus officers, allowing them more time to conduct investigations and focus on crime prevention lectures and student safety,” Perry said.
The goal of the Crime Stoppers fund is to increase the technology base for police coordinators so that more time may be focused on direct services. These services include patrolling the campus, conducting interviews with faculty and students, planning crime stopper fundraising events and conducting crime prevention class and lectures for students and faculty.
Each year, CJD provides more than $130 million in grants to help Texans at the forefront of the fight against crime. CJD funds a variety of programs for juvenile justice, crime prevention and victim services grants – all aimed at making Texas a safer place.
