Gov. Rick Perry Adds Issue To Special Session Agenda

Gov. Rick Perry today added an issue to the agenda of the third called special session of the Texas Legislature. Perry opened the call to legislation that would restructure the membership of the Electric Utility Restructuring Legislative Oversight Committee.

Created during the 76th Legislature, the committee is charged with overseeing the implementation of the electric utility restructuring bill and monitoring its effectiveness.

The Texas Constitution authorizes the governor to set the agenda during a special session of the legislature. This called special session began today with eight issues on the agenda.
