Gov. Rick Perry's Remarks Regarding Wind Energy - Amarillo
I am excited to be here in Amarillo. I wish I could stay longer, but the road calls. One of the greatest economic generators for the Panhandle and all of West Texas is Mother Nature, not only farming and ranching, but energy too. And that is increasingly true when it comes to wind energy.
Wind energy is good for the environment, good for the economy and good for West Texas, because there is an ample supply. Last month I announced a $10 billion wind energy investment, and I am going to work hard to bring as many of those wind turbines as possible to Amarillo and the Panhandle. I might even put up a wind turbine or two at the campaign headquarters of my opponents to capture all that hot air. But seriously, today is a proud day for the Panhandle.
I commend you, my friend Chairman Swinford, and all Texans dedicated to developing renewable sources of energy.
