Friday, June 29, 2012 Austin, Texas Noteworthy Historic Paintings Return Home
As restoration of the Texas Governor’s Mansion nears completion, additional historic pieces have returned to the home this week, including Robert Jenkins Onderdonk’s famous 1903 painting, 'Fall of the Alamo' and Sir Joshua Reynolds’ 18th century painting, 'Richard Barwell and His Son.' The paintings were moved to the Governor’s Office and First Lady’s Office in the State Capitol when the deferred maintenance project began in October 2007.
