Gov. Rick Perry presented the Purple Heart to U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Patrick Rogers. The Purple Heart remains among the most solemn and meaningful honors that can be presented to a member of our country’s armed forces in recognition of the brave men and women of who nobly step forward to stand on the line between us and those who would do us harm.
